Darlene Basto
Darlene has hosted public radio affairs program for both public and commercial radio in the Keweenaw Peninsula in Upper Michigan, starting in the early 1990s. She is excited to be selected to host noticing nature, a one-hour radio program exploring environmental and other nature-related issues and wonders, a program that will allow a larger community to hear from researchers right here at Michigan Technological University, as well as from visiting lecturers and other known scholars and knowledgeable guests.

John Vucetich, ecologist
an Assistant Research Professor for the School of Forestry at Michigan Tech, John is a population biologist, and spends most of his time studying the wolves and moose of Isle Royale. He also has an interest in environmental ethics.
Shalini Suryanarayana, educator
Executive Director for the Department of Educational Opportunity, Shalini has played a key role in Michigan Tech's commitment to sustainability both in and out of the classroom. She is the Chair of the Michigan Tech Environmental Sustainability Committee (ESC) and the Advisor for Students for Environmental Sustainability (SfES).
Joe Kaplan, biologist
A loon researcher and an "old home enthusiast" who lives in Hancock. Joe is a staff biologist with the nonprofit organization, Common Coast Research & Conservation (commoncoast@gmail.com).
Chris A. Anderson, student
a former math and science teacher, he is now attending Michigan Tech attaining a B.S. in Computer System Network Administration as well as an M.S. in Applied Science Education. Chris is Odawa and a registered band member of a First Nation Reserve in Canada, the Wikwemikong Unceded Indian Reserve. He is currently the video/web/graphic designer for the Michigan Tech AISES Chapter.
