About this website

The formation of this website is apart of the Student Affairs Internship Program. Although the website was originally designed during the Spring 2007 semester, the original research on nontraditional students at Michigan Tech began during Fall 2005, through surveys and several focus groups. The results of the surveys and focus groups can be found here.

All previous research and the proposal for an intern to develop a website for nontraditional students was initiated by Shalini Suryanarayana, Director, Special Academic Programs, which was submitted to Student Affairs for funding.

Chris A. Anderson, CNSA major, was the student intern hired to develop a website for nontraditional students in Spring 2007. Chris is a former secondary school teacher coming back to Michigan Tech for another degree, which makes him a nontraditional student himself. Chris originally graduated from Michigan Tech in '95 with a B.S. in Mathematics, receiving his teaching certification from Michigan Tech for the State of Michigan in 1997. He has since been certified to teach in Colorado, Idaho and Ontario.
