Employment Possibilities

As a non-traditional student, you (and your spouse) have a variety of employment opportunities, while attending Michigan Tech.

• Going through the Financial Aid Office, they will direct you through the federal and state funded work study program, where they will place you into a department that has designated need. Inquire at Financial Aid to learn more.

• Going through the Human Resources Department, there are employment opportunities (scroll down for current job postings) for working as a staff member. These positions are full and part-time, and may or may not affect attending Michigan Tech as a full-time student. The job postings change often. If you have a spouse, this might be an opportunity to explore, if necessary.

• The Career Center posts local employment opportunities from their website.

• There are many local businesses in the local area that are looking for employees. The local newspaper, Daily Mining Gazette, will list employment opportunities. You may decide to simply inquire a local business personally too.

• Keeping your ears and eyes open on bulletin boards in various buildings, emails, message boards, through student organizations, etc. will give you another advantage. The position to create this website was through Student Affairs as an internship position.
