Academic Advisors

Advising is directed out of the Dean of Students Office. Your advisor is chosen based on the major you have declared. Some majors have more advisors available, as it is based on the number of students enrolled into a particular department.

In assisting you in your academic career, an advisor can take on two different roles. One role could be as an academic advisor which addresses his or her mandatory responsibilities as an advisor. The other role is to be a developmental advisor, which is a voluntary role. A developmental advisor will go beyond their mandatory responsibilities and assist you even more. In either case, be sure to ask enough questions to get the answers you deserve.
