Film Board Movies

Every weekend during the school year, the Film Board shows movies in the Fisher 135 lecture hall. Just $2 and you get to see a new blockbuster, complete with Dolby surround sound. In addition to the movie, you can also get popcorn, pop, candy and all the useless trivia you can handle. Movies are generally shown three times per night on Friday and Saturday, with occasional special showings during the week.

The Rozsa is MTU’s home for the performing arts. The building features a beautiful lobby, performance hall, and stage, as well as a recording studio, a media lab, band and choral rehearsal rooms, classrooms, practice rooms, and faculty offices. The performance hall seats over 1100, which is regularly filled for the Great Events showing throughout the year. Comedians, dance, music and theatre have all entertained at the Rozsa. Varsity Athletics

Michigan Tech is the home to 13 varsity athletic teams. The Hockey and Nordic Ski teams compete at the NCAA Division I level while the rest of the Husky teams are Division II. Athletic events are a great way to get together with friends and show support for the school. Many students take advantage of season passes for hockey games. All other home athletic events are free to students with their Tech ID.

The Seaman Mineral Museum is located on the 5th floor of the EERC building. It is the official mineralogical museum of Michigan, displaying over 20,000 minerals that are free to view by MTU students, faculty and staff. Guided tours are also available by appointment. In addition to the mineral displays, you can find out about where and how the minerals were made as well as their role in history. The gift shop has many wonderful minerals available for all budgets.
