Eagle Harbor Environs
south of M-26 is Eagle Harbor
Encompasses the 37 acre Clark Memorial Nature Sanctuary & the 25 acre Eagle Harbor Red Pines Dunes Nature Sanctuary the hiking trail is 4.3 miles. [michigan.org, keweenaw.info]



Keweenaw Shore Nature Sanctuary
south of State Highway M26 at Esrey Park in Keweenaw County
A unique nature sanctuary with one of the most interesting short trails in the Keweenaw, the 3/4 mile trail crosses some of the best geology in the Keweenaw area and has 4 different plant communities.The hike can be continued through the more difficult upson Lake Sanctuary. [michigan.org]



Redwyn Dunes Nature Sanctuary
off M-26 at Great Sand Bay in Keweenaw County
Redwyn Dunes is located 3.5 miles east of Eagle River and 4 miles west of Eagle Harbor at Great Sand Bay along M-26. The trail begins on the east side of the road near the guard rail and is marked by a 4x4 foot post 5 feet high set behind the guard rail. It is 1 mile of small rolling hills of moderate difficulty that loops along the shore of a dune pond.The trail is in a Michigan Nature Association Sanctuary. Foot traffic only is allowed in Michigan Nature Association sanctuaries. Please, no pets, no mechanized vehicles, no fires, no camping & carry out everything you carry in. Gardner's Creek Nature Trail
at the Calumet Township Park on Lakeshore Drive
This 1 mile trail is located at the Calumet Township Park on Lakeshore Drive west of Calumet and is of moderate difficulty with gently slopping hills. Along the wooded trail are markers identifying local plants, berries and trees, Gardeners Creek, cedar forests, some wetlands and some wildlife. [keweenaw.info]
